Why have a Maternity Session?

Capturing your pregnancy is an amazing gift to leave for your future generations.

It is an emotional (and uncomfortable) magical time in your life. Although it may seem to last a long time unreality it is such a short period of your life. It will soon be just a memory.

It is also a time in your life when you are at your most feminine and beautiful (even though you may not feel it) Your skin's glowing, your hair is rich and full and your body has amazing curves.

A maternity shoot is a great way to chronicle your journey to motherhood.

The best time to have your maternity photoshoot is between 28-36 weeks. This is when your belly is all out you are still comfortable to pose.

What should I bring?

I recommend wearing a tight fitting dress for your photoshoot. This is great for silhouette images.

If you have a dress that you love then definitely bring that.

A loose fitting top will also look good.

If you can, bring black, white and flesh coloured underwear and strapless bra's or crop tops.

I have a selection of dresses and material for you to choose from though so please don't worry about having anything to wear.

I love to include your partner and children

Your husbands life is about to change too.

It's important he be included too. Becoming a father is a big deal. My greatest joy is capturing the love and excitement between you.

I do understand though, that not all men enjoy having their photo taken and may not want to be involved but if he does come I will make every effort to make the session special for him too.

The same for any other children you have.

Posing

You don't need to know how to pose. I will direct you. My goal is capture your beautiful curves and the feeling and connection you have with your new baby

An intimate pregnancy moment captured in a bright, minimalist setting.

Posing with your Partner

I want to capture your individual personalities.

I want to capture the connection and relationship between the two of you.

I want to capture the joy you are feeling together about the arrival of your new baby.

Location

A romantic beach scene with crashing waves and sunset clouds in the background.

The Beach

The beach is a perfect location for maternity images. The natural beauty of this location compliments the beauty of a pregnant woman perfectly.

Disadvantages are the weather is unpredictable.

Your Property

There are some beautiful locations in our region. I am happy to travel to a location of your choice. Again the disadvantage of outdoor images is the unpredictable weather.

My Studio

My studio at The Palms is comfortable and easy. I have lights and backdrops. We can be creative. We can also have some images outdoors in the bush on my acreage. The advantage of choosing to have your photos here is that we are not time or weather dependent.

The Bush

Hair and Makeup

Professional hair and makeup is not mandatory but I do recommend it. It will help you feel beautiful and confident in your session.
